Stefan Mross will also host “Always on Sundays” in 2025. SWR decided this after the presenter recently came under criticism again.
Despite the negative headlines, the SWR continues to stick with Stefan Mross. As the station announced on Monday, the presenter will be presenting the successful show “Immerwieder sonntags” again next year.
After a successful season from June to September 2024, the popular entertainment show will continue next year. “From early summer 2025, presenter Stefan Mross will heartily accompany his audience in the Erste and Europa-Park in Rust through the summer Sunday mornings in twelve new live episodes of the SWR show and a best-of edition,” says the statement .
Mross celebrated his 20th year as host of the music show in 2024. The presenter welcomed over 120 artists on stage this season, which ended on September 15th. “In 2025, the popular presenter will once again welcome numerous guests to the arena in Europa-Park and ensure a good mood with music, surprises, games and much more,” the broadcaster continues.
The 48-year-old recently caused a stir when he canceled his appointment at the Oktoberfest at short notice. Mross vehemently denies reports that he had looked too deeply into the glass at a wedding the day before. “To claim that I was carried out at the wedding is a bottomless impudence and a completely false statement,” he told broadcaster RTL.
His partner Eva Luginger also commented on the allegations against the musician on RTL. It was “madness what happened there.” The wedding at which Mross was a guest before his canceled Oktoberfest appearance was the celebration of Luginger’s younger sister. “It was really beautiful. And we don’t want to ruin that with these negative headlines,” explained the singer in her interview.
Many of her family members were disappointed by the negative headlines that followed and asked themselves: “What kind of tall tales are they making up again? Or was I at another wedding?”
It’s not the first time that Mross’ future on “Always on Sundays” has been speculated about. In November 2022, the moderator accepted a criminal order issued against him by the Leipzig public prosecutor’s office and therefore has a criminal record. The accusation was assault and attempted coercion.
In April 2023, SWR confirmed in a statement to the news agency spot on news that the collaboration was not at risk. “Together with Stefan Mross, we discussed and clarified the facts and background honestly, openly and on the basis of mutual trust,” it said.
