The party leaders agree on the formation of a black and red government. At the SPD, however, the members have the last word in the next two weeks.
Berlin – The coordination of the SPD members about the coalition agreement with the Union has started. As planned, the online platform was unlocked at 8:00 a.m., on which the 358,000 social democrats can submit their voices by April 29 at 11:59 p.m., as a party spokesman said. The result is to be announced on April 30th.
For the acceptance of the 144 -page coalition agreement entitled “Responsibility for Germany”, not only a majority of the votes are required, but also a participation of at least 20 percent of the members in purely digital vote. The members received a password by post with which they can – in combination with their membership number – be encrypted online. If you have no internet access, you can choose in an SPD office.
So far, only the CSU has accepted the coalition agreement by board decision. The CDU’s approval is still missing. The party of the designated Chancellor Friedrich Merz will decide on April 28 at a small party congress. If everything runs smoothly, the CDU boss should be elected chancellor in the Bundestag on May 6th. dpa
