Too expensive? Then nobody buys it. Too cheap – then give away cash. If you want to sell your car, you should therefore know exactly what it is worth. How to find out.
Professional dealers are constantly buying cars. They know all the tricks, speak every preference small and every disadvantage. Drivers rarely sell a used one. So action is not a duel at eye level. If you want to make a car into money, you should therefore know well – especially about its value.
The first starting point is the large used car exchanges on the Internet. On Portals such as Mobile.de, autoscout24.de or Abracar.de, simply look for cars that are as similar to your model (year of construction, mileage, equipment, motorization, condition, equipment). The more precisely your information, the better. The search hits show you the prices at which similar cars are offered.
The next step is the free online rating of the German Automobile Treuhand (dat). There, too, a computer determines the value of your car based on your information. However, he does not take the equipment and condition into account – in contrast to the expert, the DAT, which naturally can be paid for his service.
If you want to know exactly, you cannot avoid such an assessment. TÜV, DEKRA and other organizations also create an report. The price: usually between 150 and 300 euros. This effort is usually not necessary for a common car-the online check is usually sufficient here.
The situation is different with an expensive car or a classic car: only a few comparison models can usually be found on portals, and for example, the condition significantly influences the value. Then an assessment of an approval is definitely worth it – especially since it can make it much easier for you to make the upcoming price negotiation.
