At the 16th International Film Festival held in Bangalore, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored veteran Indian actress Shabana Azmi with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cauvery Niwas. He was also given a check of Rs 10 lakh as a prize. Mushuhar poet, lyricist and Shabana Azmi’s husband Javed Akhtar was also present on this special occasion. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also shared some pictures with Shabana and Javed on his social media which are dominated.

Recalling the work of Shabana Azmi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, ‘We … I like you very much. I have seen you in it. You are a great actress. At the same time, famous Hindi cinema actresses Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar praised Karnataka’s rich cultural and music heritage. On which reacting, the Chief Minister said that Karnataka is the home of great Indian classical musicians like Bhimsen Joshi, Kumar Gandharva and Gangubai Hangal, who are all from Dharwad. Films of 60 countries premiered on 11 screen
At the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival, more than 200 films from 60 countries were shown on 11 screens of PVR cinema at Orion Mall. During this, Government Secretary Kaveri, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor KV Prabhakar and Information and Public Relations Commissioner Hemant Nimbalkar welcomed Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar. Additional Chief Secretary LK Atik, Karnataka Chikti Academy President Sadhu Kokila and Vidya Shankar, artistic director of the 16th International Film Festival were also present. In this festival, filmmakers Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor and Ritwik Ghatak and popular Kannada actor K.S. A tribute was paid to Ashwath.
