A suspected thief is said to have tried to bribe a police officer in Pfullendorf (Sigmaringen district) – and now has to answer for a second crime. According to police reports, the 66-year-old suspect asked at the Pfullendorf police station on Friday whether a criminal complaint for theft against her could be “forgotten” and whether the matter could be “settled differently”. She is said to have promised the officer a mid-double-digit euro amount for this.
The police officer then initiated further investigations into the woman for attempting to bribe officials. An investigation into theft is already underway against the suspect. A police spokesman did not say what exactly it was about.
