Police operation: Several weapons in the backpack – getaway car found

The getaway car of the men who arrived at a customs checkpoint at the weekend with a backpack full of weapons Rostock had escaped has been found. It was in the Rostock district and was undamaged, a police spokeswoman said this morning. The car was discovered on Monday morning. No further details were initially available; the investigation is being conducted by the customs investigation office.

A 38-year-old was arrested immediately after the escape. An arrest warrant was issued against the Swedish citizen on suspicion of gang-related arms trafficking. Several media outlets had previously reported. The 38-year-old was loud police on Sunday fled in a car from a customs check at the overseas port in Rostock with probably two accomplices. During the chase, the man, who was born in Albania, is said to have gotten out of the car in Bentwisch, a few kilometers east of Rostock, deposited a backpack on a property and continued his escape on foot.
