Employees and magistrates of the Milan court are returning to their offices in these minutes after the fire that broke out this morning in the rooms of the old decommissioned boilers of the building, leading the Milan prosecutor, Marcello Viola, to order the evacuation. Around 500 people were evacuated.
Three teams from the Via Messina Command and the rescue truck intervened in via Freguglia. No injuries or poisonings were reported. The situation is already under control and the firefighters are carrying out the usual checks.
From an initial reconstruction, it appears to be an electrical problem but further investigations will be necessary to establish the exact causes of the fire. According to information from the Court’s leaders, while work was underway there was a fire involving a pipe, which was immediately put out. Some inside the Palace reported not having heard the fire alarm sound in certain areas, although it was clearly heard in other parts of the building.
