BSF responded to Mamata Banerjee.
There is still an atmosphere of tension after the violence spread over the Waqf Amendment Act in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Many companies of central forces are handling security arrangements with local police. For some time, the Border Security Force i.e. BSF has been accused on Bangladeshi infiltration towards the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state. In such a situation, BSF has responded to CM Mamata Banerjee and has also given information about the action taken on the border related to Bangladesh so far.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had alleged that BSF allows Bangladeshis to enter. At the same time, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh had alleged that the inputs of the part of two or three political parties and one part of the BSF have been found input behind the Murshidabad violence. Kunal Ghosh had said that with the help of a BSF contingent, the border was dent. Some miscreants entered, spread chaos and they were given safe way to return. Now BSF has responded to the allegations.
What did BSF say?
Regarding Mamta Banerjee’s statement, BSF has said that our priority is to guard the border and we constantly stop people from infiltration. Apart from this, we also stop those who want to go to Bangladesh illegally and give directions to arrest the police. Not only this, but if something is being smuggled, then we also stop it.
BSF released data
According to the information given by BSF, 5492 people were formally prevented from going to Bangladesh in 2023 on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The figure was 5130 in 2024 and 1127 people have been stopped in 2025 till 31 March. Explain that there is a total of 2216 km international border in West Bengal between India and Bangladesh.

Mamta did not give necessary land to BSF- Shubhendu
BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, Shubhendu Adhikari has attacked Mamata Banerjee over Bangladeshi infiltration. Shubhendu Adhikari said- “The area of 540 km on the Indo-Bangladesh border is without fence (fencing) because Mamata Banerjee did not give the BSF necessary land. PFI, Simi is with Trinamool. Mamata Banerjee is completely anti-national. Hindus are being tortured, they do not have a shelter. We do not want President’s rule in Bengal on the eve of assembly elections.”
