NFL star Hamlin provides an emotional climax

The Bills overwhelm the Jaguars, but one moment is particularly special: Damar Hamlin catches his first interception around a year and a half after his cardiac arrest. In the second game on Monday, the Commanders scored a surprise victory thanks to German support.
With a gala performance, quarterback Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to their third victory in the third game of the National Football League (NFL) – but Damar Hamlin provided the emotional highlight. In the 47:10 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 26-year-old, who had to be resuscitated after a cardiac arrest on the field and fought for his life at the beginning of last year, made the first interception of his career.
In the first quarter, the 26-year-old caught a pass from Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and the fans in Highmark Stadium cheered frantically. His teammates played a “big part in me making this kind of comeback,” said Hamlin: “They were even happier than I was when I had my first interception. That just shows what kind of community we have here in Buffalo . It’s a special place.” In addition, the strong Allen scored four touchdown passes to give the Bills the perfect start to the season after the successes against the Arizona Cardinals (34:28) and the Miami Dolphins (31:10).
Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders around German-American football professional Brandon Coleman surprisingly won against the Cincinnati Bengals in the second Monday game and made the hosts’ false start to the NFL season worse. Daniels scored a touchdown on a running play, had two touchdown passes and threw for a total of 254 yards without a missed pass. “Respect to my O-line, respect to my receivers,” Daniels said. 21 of his 23 throws found a teammate.
For the Bengals, quarterback Joe Burrow had three touchdown passes and initially put his team in the lead – but then the hosts were behind throughout. The Bengals started the season with Super Bowl ambitions.
