The newcomers in the zoo stayed around 20 minutes Muenster Shy back – only then did two of the four white -tray bears put their heads for the first time through access to their new enclosure. According to the zoo from Hanover, the almost one year old came to Westphalia, in the morning they were allowed to explore and their territory for the first time after the renovation of the former Bennett kangaro.
The predators are mainly native to the wilderness in Central America, Mexico and south of the United States. They feed on insects, fruits, eggs and small vertebrates such as mice, lizards or frogs and are considered good climbers.
In addition to the four females, two males should expand the group so that there will also be offspring in the Zoo in Münster in the future. At first they stay on a neighboring system. After a familiarization period, they join the females. These nasal bears are only sexually mature after two to three years.
