Atlanta and the Mets have the tiebreaker criteria in their favor over the Diamondbacks and have two pending duels, suspended this week due to the arrival of Hurricane Helene in the southeastern United States. The Braves and New York would face each other on Monday in a card in case their situation has not been defined by then.
Ortiz put the Brewers up 2-0 in the fourth inning, finding a curve from Colombian José Quintana (10-10), with a full count, and sending the ball between right and center field, for a single with the bases full.
Milwaukee left the game practically decided in the eighth inning, scoring four times against Reed Garrett.
