The situation in Lebanon is getting worse. Is it possible for Israel to destroy Hezbollah and end the conflict? A Middle East expert explains.
Mutual attacks between Israel and the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah are intensifying. The number of civilian casualties is rising, thousands of people are on the run, and calls for a ceasefire are becoming louder. Can this conflict be resolved? Could Israel take out Hezbollah? Middle East expert Richard C. Schneider sees another way to bring about a possible solution.
“This could allow other forces in Palestinian politics to expand again,” says Schneider in the “Tagesbruch” podcast on t-online. He was head of the ARD studio in Tel Aviv for many years and sees the weakness of the West as the main problem in mediating between the two sides.
