Middle East conflict: situation in Beirut

For more than a week, Israel has been carrying out massive air strikes in Lebanon against targets of the terrorist organization Hezbollah – including in the capital Beirut. A correspondent reports on the situation on site.

Almost a year after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army launched a large-scale military operation in Lebanon a week ago and has since been carrying out massive air strikes against the terrorist organization Hezbollah based there.

Immediately after the radical Islamic Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th last year, it opened a second front against Israel with regular rocket attacks from Lebanon.

One of the latest Israeli air strikes in the south of the capital Beirut killed its leader Hassan Nasrallah and other senior members of the militia on Friday.

Since then, people’s lives in the Lebanese capital have changed fundamentally, reports correspondent Stella Males from on site.

You can see in the video above how she perceives the mood of the local people and how they feel united.
