The former Dutch player, Marco Van Basten, 59, has been called an “idiot” to the current coach of Manchester United of the English Premier League, Erik Ten Hag, for having signed footballer Manuel Ugarte.
He was completely sincere in his words
Van Basten was not at all impressed by Ugarte’s recent performance in what was the rout that the Red Devils received on Sunday against Tottenham. The Dutchman spoke without mincing words through Ziggo Sport: “I have seen a new player walking through Manchester United, Ugarte, for 50 million euros. How does this guy walk around there? “It’s idiotic how much (Ten Hag) has decided to invest in players who aren’t even good.”
However, Van Basten has not only been critical of the team’s signingsbut also of the players who currently live in the legendary English club, and the performance they currently have in the competitions where they live.
For the Dutchman there are no quality players at United
“Name a top player at Manchester United? “In every club there is a top player,” says the former AC Milan striker of Italy’s Serie A.
“(Marcus) Rashford is very bad. Bruno Fernandes is a good player, (André) Onana is a good goalkeeper. That’s all. Casemiro is finished. (Alejandro) Garnacho is a decent player. But nobody takes that team to another level, to another status.”
