Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) celebrates German Unity Day in Warsaw. According to the State Chancellery, he is traveling to Poland for the first time since the change of government and is taking part in the reception at the German Embassy. The Free State is the partner federal state this year.
The visit to the neighbors from October 2nd to 4th is intended to deepen cooperation in business, science, research and education for the benefit of both regions. Kretschmer is accompanied by members of the state parliament, a business and science delegation and vocational students. “As a direct neighbor, Poland is one of the most important partners for Saxony,” said Kretschmer, according to the announcement before departure.
