A traditional Munich beer garden opens its doors again after two years of renovation. The new hosts have big plans.
After around two years of comprehensive core renovation, life returns to the historic Menterschwaige Gutshof Gutshof on the Isar Hochufer. The popular Munich destination with more than 200 years of history will reopen in the coming week under the direction of the new host couple Till and Pamela Weiß, reports the “Abenzeitung”.
The Menterschwaige, once owned by the Kuffler group and most recently operated by Oktoberfest Christian Schottenhamel, switched from Löwenbräu to Augustiner-Bräu. A modern self -service building was built for the classic Bavarian beer garden, while the restaurant with 340 seats according to the “Wirtshaus Plus” concept will offer Bavarian cuisine with changing menus.
As an innovation, a hotel with 28 rooms was created in the back of the 18th century, which is due to open on May 1st. The overnight prices start at 200 euros for a standard room including breakfast.
The couple knows, who had previously led the Augustiner at Wörthsee for seven years, run the Menterschwaige Gutshof as a family business with the support of their sons Felix and Max.
