Gervonta Davis mocks Berlanga: “Celebrating failure”

Gervonta Davis, lightweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), mocked Edgar Berlanga for celebrating the defeat with Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarezsince he posted a video on his social networks of his reception in Puerto Rico after the fight.

In his official account on X, Davis criticized Berlanga’s attitude because He seemed very happy for having lost for the first time in his career against Canelo Álvarez on September 14 and the Puerto Rican did not remain silent.

“Celebrating failure. “Congratulations because you got your ass kicked,” he wrote in a tweet that was deleted. “I want to see you do that in Baltimore. You’re a coward, you wish you had a country behind you like me. You are not the face of boxing. You have to go through me, coward,” the Puerto Rican responded to Tank Davis.

In the fight, Edgar Berlanga gave a good performance to the public present at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and surprised by lasting the 12 rounds after being knocked down in the third by the man from Guadalajara. In the end the judges scored the victory for the unified super middleweight champion by broad unanimous decision.

Gervonta Davis, 28, He maintained his immaculate record after knocking out Frank Martin in the eighth round. The regular American WBA lightweight world champion has a record of 30 victories, 28 of them by fast track.

For his part, Edgar Berlanga, 27, could not dethrone Canelo Álvarez and lost his undefeated record in the sport. The Puerto Rican fighter has a record of 22 wins, 17 of them by way of sleep and a setback.
