Metro Los Angeles offers free trips this Wednesday, October 2 on the occasion of California Clean Air Day.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced that The benefit is in its bus, train, bicycle and shared vehicle systems.
“This California Clean Air Year reinforces the importance of a safe and reliable public transportation system.” in our collective effort to reduce air pollution and our dependence on fossil fuels,” said Metro Board Chair and Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn.

“As president of Metro and someone who breathes air in Los Angeles County, I am grateful to the almost million people who travel by Metro every day and I will work to make this system better for you and for more passengers in the future,” he added.
This year marks the seventh California Clean Air Dayin which environmental groups and state transportation agencies come together to encourage everyone to do their part to improve air quality in the Golden State.
As part of these efforts, people are encouraged to use public transportplanting trees, shopping at local stores and installing air filters, among other measures.

New for this year, Move LA brings together transportation agencies to Spread the message of using public transportation every day to collaborate in improving air quality.
The Southern California Public Transportation Weekwhich takes place from September 30 to October 6, includes activities such as a Sustainable Transportation Fair, at UCLA; as well as a Mobility Expo, in West Hollywood.
Metro promotes its plan Moving Beyond Sustainability to make your buildings and facilities are more ecologicalreducing air pollution and construction trash, as well as reducing smog and greenhouse gases in Los Angeles County.

The agency invests in zero-emission electric buses and in replacement engines with “almost zero” emissions to help improve air quality.
Metro increases the number of zero-emission buses and reduces greenhouse gas emissions with the use of 100% renewable natural gas with vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG).
“Public transportation It is the cleanest form of transportationin addition to biking and walking,” said Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins.

To ride free, Metro passengers simply board a bus or train without needing a TAP card. Turnstiles at train stations will be unlocked.
The users of Metro Micro rideshares can use the code CleanAir24which will reset the rate of any reservation for a trip on October 2 in all areas.

The travelers of Metro Bike Share can activate bicycles with the code 100224 to get a free 30-minute ride.
To redeem the code, select “1 ride” at any Metro Bike Share kiosk, online or in the Metro Bike Share app, and use code 100224, which can be used several times during the day.
