FM 25 release announced | Football Manager 2025 release

After the original release could not be met, Sports Interactive has now announced Football Manager 2025 for the end of November. The series starts a new era on several levels.

Thanks to the Unity engine, the FM 25 should also set visual highlights.

There was great disappointment in the community when developer Sports Interactive announced at the beginning of September that it would have to postpone the release of Football Manager 2025. A good three weeks later, it is now clear when tactical foxes and diamond eyes will be allowed to sit on the virtual bench again: On November 26th, the FM 25 will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox – including Game Pass. Further information about the release on the Switch and in the mobile version will follow in October.

Quantum leap with a late start

One of the biggest innovations in the FM 25 was responsible for the delays. This is being programmed in the Unity Engine for the first time, which turned out to be more difficult than expected – and is particularly worth it visually. As does the Premier League, which is fully licensed for the first time and promises even more immersion.

However, the current Football Manager 2024 is not only the last of its kind due to technical developments. As Sports Interactive revealed in the course of the release announcement, the FM 25 is also breaking new ground in terms of content. For the first time, women’s football is to be opened up to aspiring coaches and sports directors in personal union.

The studio didn’t want to take a closer look at inclusion, but wants to ensure more transparency as soon as possible. According to an attached roadmap for the upcoming spin-off, there will be a more detailed look at women’s football and its integration into the game on October 7th. As a result, contributions that have not yet been scheduled will, among other things, take a closer look at the renewed interface, tactics or matchday experience.

Long-planned changes should “bear fruit”

However, Football Manager 2025 will not only come with a few innovations. As developer CEO Miles Jacobson revealed in June, some aspects of the previous games were also deleted. These include the versus mode or the shouts during an ongoing game.

Therefore, the focus is of course all the more on the fresh coat of paint, which Jacobson wants to present in more detail as soon as possible. “We’re really looking forward to showing you more of the game in the weeks leading up to release,” he is quoted as saying in a Sports Interactive press release, specifically emphasizing the two big changes. FM 25 is the point “at which the world gets to see two of our multi-year projects come to fruition: the switch to the Unity engine and the introduction of women’s football.”
