What Unlimited tariffs offers Aldi?
Aldi Talk starts with three variants of the “Unlimited GB” tariff option. All contain the use of both the LTE and the 5G mobile phone network, but differ in maximum pace and, above all, in the basic data volume from which you have to book. Otherwise, the pace is reduced to a maximum of 64 KBPs. After booking, the normal tariff high-speed data volume is reached again. As with 1 & 1, the subsequent book data volume is always very small, it is only one gigabyte (GB) per post-booking. You book another volume via the Aldi talk app directly on your smartphone. The following variants of the “Unlimited GB rebook” option is available:
- S (9.99 euros/28 days): 15 GB up to 50 Mbps to rebook
- M (14.99 euros/28 days): 30 GB to 100 Mbps until rebooking
- L (19.99 euros/28 days): 60 GB to 150 Mbps until rebooking
How do I book Unlimited tariffs?
The “Unlimited GB rebook” tariffs from Aldi Talk are technically implemented as a tariff option for the normal Aldi talk prepaid cards. This means that the user can book it to any Aldi-Talk SIM, ideally via the Aldi talk app (after login or if it is just logged into the mobile network, i.e. has switched off WiFi or is not currently in WLAN). New customers have to get an Aldi talk starter set that is available in every Aldi branch (south or north) and also online. The normal set price of 10 euros (2.99 euros by April 6, 2025) includes a starting credit of 9.99 euros. Sparte tip: For new customers, the option is available free of charge in the first four weeks. When re-ordering, it is therefore worthwhile to put the “L” tariff in the shopping cart. A later change to the M or S tariff or a downgrade to the free basic tariff is still possible.
Temporary action – but this is how the tariff continues!
The Unlimited tariffs can be newly booked from Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10 a.m.-and initially only in the campaign period until June 30, 2025. But they can still continue to use the tariff: If the credit is sufficient, the option is automatically extended. If you want to use the tariffs permanently, you should make sure that you always have enough credit on the prepaid account. Either by charging the basic amount every month or by activating the automatic posting booking via direct debit. If there is not enough credit on the prepaid account, you automatically fall back to the free basic tariff.
Assessment: Aldi Talk Unlimited
As with 1 & 1, the entry price for an unlimited tariff with 9.99 euros (for four weeks) is very low. However, the high-speed data volume is very small with 15 gigabytes until the first subsequent book obligation is inserted-there were at least 50 gigabytes with the 1 & 1 offer doubled in the price.
Tip for many people: L tariff for 19.99 euros. Only here are the user available a whopping 60 gigabytes before the first post. However, the subsequent book volume of 1 gigabyte is so small that it is neither suitable for permanent video conferences nor for film enjoyment in 4K or full HD quality. However, real unlimited tariffs without a subsequent book obligation are at least twice as expensive.
Price tip: S tariff for 9.99 euros. However, most people almost never consume more than 15 gigabytes on the cell phone per month. So if you only want to use an option to surf further in the event, you can access Aldi Talk in the Unlimited tariff S for 9.99 euros! For one euro more than in the popular combination package S, you get the option to book more data volume in months with unexpectedly strong use. However, it should be noted that a Netflix film in HD has already used around 3 gigabytes. In contrast, about 1 gigabyte is actually enough for an hour.
