In the first three months of the year, the expansion of wind turbines in Germany gained a significantly speed. As early as the first quarter of 2025, around 1,000 megawatts of newly installed performance were reached around a third of the entire addition of the previous year, the Federal Association of Wind Energy (BWE) said.
There was also a record level in the permits: “In the first quarter, more than 4,000 megawatts were approved as much performance than ever in a spring,” said BWE President Bärbel Heidebroek. The association said that the association was already exceeded every spring from 2017 to 2022.
