Elon Musk receives a lot of criticism not only in the real world for his advisory role in the new US government, but also on the Internet. In the various sub -forums – the so -called subreddits – the Reddit platform, many frustrated users express their displeasure with the billionaire’s activities. Some of these comments clearly beat the strands. But the self-proclaimed “freedom of expression absolutist” should actually stand that, right? As it is now shown: Apparently no.

Reddit CEO bends in front of Elon Musk
Musk apparently did not want to let this sit on him, the Verge continues, and contacted the CEO of the platform, Steve Huffman, and complained. Apparently with success, because shortly afterwards Reddit moderators began to block a subreddit, where information about the Efficiency Organization Dow was shared. Threads, in which Reddit users had called for violence against Doge employees, were also removed. Without question: These contributions have clearly violated Reddit’s terms of use.
Reddit is radical against critical voices
Apparently, the Reddit moderators have not always checked in the extinguishing campaign as to whether violations are actually being made. Because at the extinguishing campaign, the moderators from Reddit have also cycled hundreds of harmless contributions from forums. In addition, the extensive Subreddit R/Whitepeopletwitter was banned for 72 hours. There, a particularly large number of users had previously exchanged and excited about the multi -illiarch and Doge.
Interpretable influence on private platform
The fact that Reddit reacted so suddenly and obediently to Musk’s concerns causes discussions among Reddit moderators. It is not about content or freedom of expression, according to a conversation on Discord, but that Musk is able to easily influence public and private institutions.
