“Don’t laugh at the fishermen. Get paid from the taxes they pay”

Barrachina defended the Valencian fishermen from the speakers’ gallery. But, he stopped his intervention when he saw that Bordera was laughing. At that moment, the counselor looked at Bordera and with a very serious face told her: “Don’t laugh at the fishermen, because You will receive your salary this month for the taxes they pay you». A comment that has earned Miguel Barrachina the applause of more than 10 seconds from the bench popular and that of Vox, as can be seen in the video that illustrates this information.

Since the beginning of the legislature, Miguel Barrachina has been the spokesman for the Popular Party in the Valencian Parliament. This June, Carlos Mazón called him to join his Government as Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. And this Wednesday he appeared before the Plenary Session of the Chamber to explain the new political lines of what is already his Ministry.

In that same intervention, Miguel Barrachina highlighted the work carried out by fishermen in the Valencian Community. And he has also presented a demand from those same fishermen: more days of work at sea compared to the current 120: “To be able to work, to be able to fish,” summarized Barrachina who, in addition, has also defended the elimination of fees that make the activity of those same fishermen more expensive.

This elimination of fees for fishermen is one of the measures that Carlos Mazón announced in the general policy debate held in that same Chamber just a few days ago.

Barrachina has also criticized “those who from the environmental world have attacked our fishermen” because “they do it unfairly.” Just a few moments after this last statement, Miguel Barrachina cut off his own speech, because a Compromís deputy was laughing. And it was then that the Minister of Agriculture, looking at the Minister of Compromís, told him: «Don’t laugh at the fishermenbecause you will receive your salary this month for the taxes they pay you.
