A Chinese woman was arrested in Leipzig. She is said to have spied for a secret service. There are also connections to the former employee of AfD politician Maximilian Krah.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office arrested a Chinese citizen in Leipzig on Monday. Yaqi X. is accused of carrying out secret service activities for a Chinese secret service. She is also said to have been in contact with Jian G.. G. was formerly an employee of the AfD European politician Maximilian Krah.
According to the press release from the Federal Prosecutor General’s Office, Yaqi X. is said to work for a company that provides services in the area of, among other things, Leipzig/Halle Airport. Between mid-August 2023 and mid-February 2024, she is said to have transmitted information about flights, cargo and passengers to an employee of a Chinese secret service. “This particularly included information about the transport of military equipment as well as people with connections to a German defense company,” it said. This secret service agent is said to be Jian G., a former employee of the AfD politician Maximilian Krah.

On Monday, X. was brought before the investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice, who ordered pre-trial detention.
