Beijing: Doctors in China have done so amazing that can be called a miracle in the medical field. Chinese doctors have first transplanted the liver of a genetically modified pig into humans. This transplant is done in a brain dead man. This feat of doctors will help in the treatment of patients in the future. In the last few years, the pig has been seen as the best organ donor for humans. American doctors have been successful in implanting pig’s kidney (kidney) and heart in the past.

This has never happened before

Doctors at the Military Medical University in Sheian, China have given information about this success in a study by Nature magazine. Pig liver was never tested inside the human body before. After this transplant, researchers hope that gene modified pigs can give the minimum temporary relief to seriously sick patients.

Information about the patient not given

According to the information, on 10 March 2024, a small pig’s liver was transplanted into a brain dead adult man. The gene was modified to improve this liver. Doctors said that the test was terminated after 10 days at the family request. Doctors have not given information about the patient’s name, penis and other details.

‘Liver was working well’

The original liver of the patient was present and such transplants are called auxiliary transplant. In 10 days, doctors monitored liver blood flow, bile, immune response and other major functions. Lynn Wang, who was associated with the hospital, told in a press conference that the pig’s liver was ‘working very well’ and ‘was producing bile smoothly’. It was also producing the major protein albumin. He described it as ‘big achievement’ which can help patients with liver problems in future.
