International arrest warrant leads to the arrest: A 49-year-old British presumed drug dealer was caught at Frankfurt Airport.
The federal police arrested a British citizen at Frankfurt Airport on Sunday. The 49-year-old was searched for an international arrest warrant, as the authorities said.
The man had traveled to Frankfurt from San José in Costa Rica and wanted to fly on to Hurghada in Egypt via Zurich. The officials arrested the British immediately after leaving the aircraft on the gate.
The 49-year-old is accused of membership in a criminal association and participation in the import of several kilograms of cocaine. As part of an ongoing investigation, the British authorities had confiscated cocaine with an estimated road sales value of around half a million British pounds.
The accused will be presented to the responsible judge during the day. This decides on the delivery of the British in his home country, where he now threatens a lifelong prison sentence.
