At the BVG there is an indefinite strike. The Verdi members clearly voted for this in the event of a coordination. However, there is still a arbitration that could prevent the strike.
In the tariff conflict with the Berlin transport companies, the members of the Verdi trade union cleared the way for permanent strikes. In a match, 95.4 percent voted for this possibility, as the German press agency learned from union circles. Since there is a arbitration between the two sides by Thursday next week, it is open whether it actually comes to the permanent strip.
Verdi had declared the collective bargaining for around 16,000 employees in mid -March and announced the end of the vote. The BVG, in turn, called for arbitration. A week later, both sides then agreed on the modalities for the procedure in which they were able to appoint a simple.
For the BVG, Brandenburg’s former Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck (SPD) is. For Verdi, Thuringia’s former Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow. Confidentiality applies during arbitration. After becoming known, the BVG announced on request: “The common arbitration process is currently underway, for which the agreement ‘settle and silence’ applies.”
In the negotiations, the crucial point is the demand for 750 euros more per month. The BVG speaks of a “non -reality and uninfected demand”. Verdi, in turn, accuses the company of not appropriately rewarding the performance of the employees. Both sides have already come closer to other points such as the runtime and the allowances.
The latest BVG offer was gradually 375 euros and 24 months of term. According to its own statements, the BVG also offers 200 euros in two steps. In the case of driving service or exchange allowance, 225 euros are on the table, 130 euros for the shift allowance. On average, wages of all employees would increase by 13.6 percent in two years.
If the arbitration fails, Verdi could immediately call for strikes. With the now successfully completed coordination, the union has more legal scope in the industrial struggles. Longer temporary strikes would also be possible. So far, Verdi has called for a warning strike five times in the current tariff round.
