After the draw against Ireland which sparked celebrations on the lawn of the ‘Nereo Rocco’ stadium in Trieste, the Azzurrini are projected towards the draw for the final phase scheduled for Tuesday 3 December in Bratislava. With the conclusion of the groups, 13 of the 16 national teams that will be protagonists of the final phase from 11 to 28 June are known: Denmark, England (holder), France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia (country host), Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine. The other three qualifiers will emerge from the play-offs which will be played between 11 and 19 November: the six worst runners-up will be on the pitch and will compete for the remaining three places in home and away matches. The draw is scheduled for Thursday 17 October: Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, Georgia and Norway, who on the last day beat Ireland for whom the draw in Trieste against Italy was not enough.
