
28 IEDs were recovered from a village in West Singhbhum district.
Chaibasa: Security forces have achieved a major success in Western Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. According to information given by a senior police officer on Saturday, security forces have recovered 28 IEDs from the forest area of a Naxal -affected village in the district. A total of 23 detonators and other explosives were also seized from a hideout of Naxalites in the area during the search operation on Friday. During the campaign, a joint team of security forces had detected the sophisticated explosive equipment i.e. IED installed in Jimkikir village of Tonto police station area during the campaign.
‘IED was deactivated on the spot’
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said that the bomb disposal squad neutralized the IED on the spot. Police said that the team has seized gunpowder as well as detonator from the Naxalite hideout. Let me tell you that a CRPF jawan was killed and another soldier was injured in an IED blast on last Saturday in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Giving information about this, a police officer had said that the explosion occurred during the time when the anti -Naxal operation was being carried out in the area.
There was a blast in IED during search operation
Giving information about the incident, SP Ashutosh Shekhar of Sinhapur had said that the Naxalites had put an IED to target the security forces, but during the search operation, there was a blast. He had told that in this blast, 2 soldiers Sunil Kumar Mandal and Partha Per Day were injured and they were taken to Ranchi for treatment by air. Shekhar said, “In the 193 battalion of CRPF, Sub -Inspector Mandal died during treatment.” State Chief Minister Hemant Soren mourned the death of a CRPF jawan.
