Vicky Kaushal starrer film Chhawa has proved to be the biggest superhit film ever this year. Released in theaters on 14 February, the makers of this film took such a decision that it became amazing. Now this film is still running in theaters for 41 days and has so far grossed 789 crores worldwide. At the same time, the film has earned Rs 698.65 crore in India itself. But very few people know that the chhava was fixed for release in December last year. But keeping in view the possible storm of Pushpa-2, the release date of this film was extended forward.
Camps continue even after 41 days
Two big releases around Eid- Alexander and Chhava are earning more than one crore daily before Empuran. On its sixth Wednesday of its release, the film earned Rs 1.4 crore, making its total earnings in India to Rs 587.75 crore. The GDP of Chhawa is Rs 698.65 crore, while its worldwide collection has so far reached Rs 789.65 crore (more than $ 90 million). Overseas in Overseas have earned Rs 91 crore. Chhava became the highest grossing film of 2025, breaking several records and overtaking many Bollywood blockbusters.
1 decision changed the fate of the film
This has proved to be the biggest film of Vicky’s career so far. It is expected that the film will overtake the recent horror comedy hit woman 2 before the film landed from theaters, which was the highest grossing film of 2024. Let me tell you that the leaf was released in theaters on February 14 in this year. But it was decided to release this film of director Laxman Utekar on December 6. But ‘Pushpa-2’ was also releasing on 5 December. Due to which the makers had reduced the film’s release date to 14 February 2025 to avoid the box office tribulation of this film. Now this decision has proved to be lucky for the catch. The film is still running in theaters.
Sixth Wednesday also did not decrease
On the sixth Wednesday, the total occupancy of the vessel was 8.6 percent. The film’s occupancy was the highest (30 percent) in Chennai with a total of 2508 shows across India, where 7 shows took place. Hyderabad with 60 shows saw an 11.5 percent occupancy. The film’s occupancy with 492 shows in Mumbai stood at 8.5 percent, while Occupancy with 623 shows in Delhi-NCR was 9 percent. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, also stars Ashutosh Rana, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta and Vineet Kumar Singh in lead roles. The Hindi version of the film premiered on 14 February, while its Telugu version was released on 7 March.
